Make Laws Meaningful Again

Posted by cann0nba11 on March 31, 2008

Joe Pags had a moment of genius on his show this afternoon and I think it’s something that we should run with. When talking about people that want to shorten the sentences of illegal aliens he countered with this: “I think we should double the sentences for people here illegally.”

What a great idea.

Think about it. If illegals from all countries knew that they would be prosecuted and face double time for their offenses, they might actually think twice about coming here to do their dirty deeds. Criminals from Europe, Asia and south of the border know that they get a free ride if they make it across the border. Some get free healthcare, some illegally collect and receive a tax return, while others have the chance for discounted tuition that citizens aren’t even eligible for.

More and more often we are hearing news stories about illegal aliens killing citizens in drunk driving accidents.  Maybe they would call a cab if they knew that they were facing an even more serious penalty if here illegally. Maybe drug dealers would think twice about carrying loads across the border. Maybe I’m just dreaming.

There is already a precident. “Fines double when workers present” is a commonly seen sign on Texas highways. The law is not a racist one. It is an equal opportunity punishment. Now only if our nation would enforce the myriad laws onthe books today.

Global Scamming: Chapter 2

Posted by cann0nba11 on March 31, 2008

Al Gore is at it again. First the Oscar and the Nobel Prize for a two hour walk through his mind-numbing presentation and his book. Now he is taking his crusade to an entirely new level. Last night on 60 Minutes we learned that he will be spending $300 million over the next three years on a nationwide ad campaign to spread the message about global warming.

Where the hell is this money coming from? When asked he danced around the answer and said that all of the profits from his book were going toward this, plus the cash from the Nobel Peace Prize. Great. If we are hugely generous perhaps this totals $10M. Where is the other $290M coming from? We won’t know anytime soon because the softball 60 minutes interviewer failed to follow up with the obvious question. (Of course, why should I expect any real questioning of the Goracle by CBS?)

Once upon a time everyone on earth thought that the world was flat. There was no debating this obvious fact. We are now reaching a similar scenario via the rantings of Al Gore and the global warming activist radicals (GWARs). Science usually requires debate, yet if anyone dares to counter Gore’s ‘facts’ they are considered loony, crazy, wacko. So let’s set the tone of this blog entry:

  • I believe the Earth is getting slightly warmer. Slightly.
  • I believe that human contribution to this increase is statistically insignificant.
  • I believe that the billions that Gore and his followers are suggesting be spent will be a huge waste that borders on criminal negligence.
  • I believe that if every suggested remedy to global warming was enacted today that we would alter the temperature of Earth enough to, well, to not do a damned thing we could notice.
  • I believe that countries like India and China, who are responsible for two thirds of industrial carbon emissions, couldn’t care less about enacting change.
  • I believe that global warming activists are unwilling to engage in debate because they are more concerned about standing for something than they are about facts.

Here are some facts that the press or Al Gore won’t report on:

  • That big arctic glacier the size of Connecticut that GWARs are screaming about hasn’t floated away. In fact, it was “in danger” of separating,” it never actually separated. Furthermore, the crack was most likely caused by the combination of increased underwater volcanic activity in the area combined with an earthquake. But really, this point is moot since the winter freeze came and the whole area froze back together.
  • 96.5% of all carbon dioxide emissions are from natural sources, mankind is responsible for only 3.5%, with 0.6% coming from fuel to move vehicles, and about 1% from fuel to heat buildings. Even if humans stopped emitting carbon dioxide entirely effect on the world would be negligible.
  • For the past 10,000 years, the Earth has actually been cooling.
  • Science shows us that arctic ice is actually expanding. Here’s a picture:
So if you happen to believe that Global Warming is a legitimate issue that humans simply must do something about, and you base this on recent data showing an increase in temperatures going back about a hundred years, I encourage you to view the first 6 minutes of the first video listed below:
  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOLkze-9GcI
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN06JSi-SW8
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCXDISLXTaY
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpQQGFZHSno
Here’s something worth reading (thanks to Newsbusters):
“Al Gore stands to make a ton of money from the hysteria he is creating. Gore buys his carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. It may be interesting to note that Gore helped found Generation Investment Management, through which he and others pay for offsets. The firm invests the money in solar, wind and other projects that reduce energy consumption around the globe. Gore is chairman of the firm and, presumably, draws an income or will make money as its investments prosper. In other words, he “buys” his “carbon offsets” from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself. To be blunt, Gore doesn’t buy “carbon offsets” through Generation Investment Management - he buys stocks.”
But it gets better.
“According to their own documents, GIM intends to invest in, or buy companies poised to cash in on Global Warming concerns. Putting this in perspective, for years the left and their media minions have posited that George W. Bush started war with Iraq to benefit the company Vice President Dick Cheney used to run, Halliburton, as well as Bush’s oil tycoon friends. In fact, there have been times when you couldn’t swing a dead cat in any pressroom in this nation without hitting a reporter working on such a story.
Yet, as the former Vice President continues to plug global warming as a coming crisis in need of immediate attention, the same media completely ignore his obvious financial conflicts of interest. No liberal media bias there”

The main point of my rant is that Al Gore is pushing junk science on a gullible world that is willing to spend billions to make themselves feel better. There are so many other things this money could be spent on, yet the lemmings don’t care. Yet Gore alone is about to spend $300M to advertise and brainwash the masses on what could be considered the greatest scam in recent history. I wonder how he can sleep at night.

“niggers have got to go.”

Posted by cann0nba11 on March 20, 2008

Pretty abrasive title, huh? Just imagine if this comment was made by John McCain or Glenn Beck. Heads would roll. Protests would be launched. Someone would get fired. Al Sharpton would be on television again. Here’s the complete quote.

“There’s like a civil war going on in America and there’s two sides. There’s black people… and there’s niggers. And the niggers have got to go.”

I went to a black majority high school and lived on the black majority side of town growing up. I’m white but I’ve been the victim of blatant racism. Given my own personal life experiences I happen to agree with the quote in red. So do lots of black people. I think the word nigger is horribly offensive. But the double standard still alive today is even worse.

Now for some context:e Who actually said the quote in red? Take a look: source video here, it starts about twenty seconds into this video. Hear the laughter? Hear the applause? What a crazy world we live in.

Screw You Reverend Dr. Wright

Posted by cann0nba11 on March 16, 2008

Now that bloggers have had time to digest various thoughts on Reverend Dr. Wright’s repertoire of controversial statements we will soon see which bloggers are thinking with their heart versus their head. The main take from the left is that Obama can’t be blamed for the things others say. Here are some examples:

  • “I call upon my opponent to say that she forthrightly rejects statements made by her hairdresser” (Washington Post)
  • “The racist Clinton/Far Right smear machine proves that Obama’s minister had a valid point” (Huffington Post)
  • “If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Mr. Wright said with a shrug. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.” (New York Times - April 2007)

This last bullet is quite interesting since it came from Wright almost a year ago. He admits that guilt by association with him is a real possibility. However, if anyone else says the very same thing they are labeled as racists or character assassins. So with this in mind I have a message for the reverend.

Screw you and the divisive horse you rode in on.

Yes, people should not necessarily be blamed for comments made by someone else. However, these comments deserve far more scrutiny when they come from the leader of an organization that exists to shape how you live your life. If Obama’s security guard, baby sitter or barber said the things Wright has said, the comments would be ignored and Obama would be clean. But these comments came from the man that married Barack and Michelle, the man that baptized his children, and the man that inspired the title of Obama’s second book. Wright is a man of influence, he has had Obama’s attention for more than twenty years.

Here are some words from Obama himself aboutReverand Dr. Wright:

“A special shout out to my pastor, a guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me, he’s a friend, and a great leader …” (source)

This doesn’t sound like a man referring to his crazy uncle. I also find the following comment from Wright’s church interesting: “This is an attack on the legacy of the African American Church which led and continues to lead the fight for human rights in America and around the world.”

To me this sounds an awful lot like the stuff that radical Muslims say about Islam. Both conveniently ignore the substance of the criticism they receive and instead replace it with a diversion aimed to inflame their own members. Find me a single reporter or blogger that has attacked Trinity United Church of Christ. I doubt you can find one. It’s much easier to find people that are attacking Wright’s controversial statements. Not the church, his statements. And given that Wright has influenced Obama so deeply these attacks are absolutely justified.

The Black Value System

Posted by cann0nba11 on March 14, 2008

The Trinity United Church of Christ is the church of choice for the man who might be our next president. Given that he and his wife have attended this church for more than twenty years it might be valuable to know what they church stands for.

From its web site, “We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian… Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.”

One video goes as far as to claim that the church is a “radically welcoming church.” Given some of his public comments I think Reverend Dr. Wright was unaware of this claim. Here’s a commercial that the church created. Apparently it was banned.

In 1982 Trinity adopted The Black Value System. If you are a liberal that blames anyone but yourself for your problems you will love this document. If you are a minority that blames “whitey” for your problems you will love this document. If you are like most Americans and think that you have every opportunity to succeed in our great country if you make good decisions and learn from your bad decisions — you might not like what you read. Let’s take a closer look:

Commitment to the Black Family
“The Black family circle must generate strength, stability, and love despite the uncertainty
of externals, because these characteristics are required if the developing person is to
withstand warping by our racist competitive society.”

Yep. Our society is still very racist. In my humble opinion racism is supported and perpetuated by minorities looking for excuses and shortcuts. Group-think can be powerful, especially when it involves race. Minorities have every chance to succeed, and often have greater opportunity to enter schools or gain employment than European Americans. Affirmative action, quotas, etc. The concept of merit is dying a horrific death.

Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
“…Real education” fosters understanding of ourselves as well as every aspect of our environment. Also it develops within us the ability to fashion concepts and tools for better utilization of our resources, and more effective solutions to our problems. Since the majority of Blacks have been denied such learning, Black Education must include elements that provide high school graduates with marketable skills, a trade or qualifications for apprenticeships, or proper preparation for college.”

The majority of Blacks have been denied such learning? Being ‘denied’ learning is the same as not being allowed to learn. America provides school to every child in the country for free! (actually, it’s paid for by property taxes, but you get my point.) All you have to do is show up! Choosing to skip school, join a gang, do drugs or screw a ho’ isn’t the same as being denied an education. It’s an excuse to blame someone else for your own stupidity or ignorance. I grew up in a world where actions have consequences, didn’t you?

Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
“Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must keep the captive ignorant educationally, but trained sufficiently well to serve the system.”

What kind of crap is this? Is the implication that “White America” (Reverand White’s term, not mine) is the captor and Blacks are ignorant captives? One paragraph states that the captors “[places] them in concentration camps, and/or structuring an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons. Maybe I missed this at the last Cracker Club meeting but I don’t remember the lesson on how to induce Blacks to commit robberies, rapes, murders, car jackings and drug crimes. After all, these innocent children are not capable of thinking of these things on their own. It’s the fault of the White Man. Blacks are just poor victims of the powerful and rich Caucasian population.

Give me a friggin’ break.

So what’s my point? Barack and Michelle Obama have attended the church that supports and lives by the principles listed above. How can they not be influenced by the separatist rants of a blatant racist like Reverend Dr. White? Show me the sermons or teachins of the Mormon Church that spew hatred and say “God Damn America” instead of “God Bless America.” Show me the Catholic Church that refers to our great country as the “US KKK of A.” I don’t believe that Barack is a racist, but I do suspect that Michelle Obama is a touch more racially militant. Her “proud of my country” comment was not a slip, it was a sign of her true feelings. Do you want her whispering in the President’s ear at night? Do you want a junior senator with a far left liberal voting record and no actual leadership experience running the country? I certainly don’t.

Obama can try to distance himself from Wright’s verbal diarrhea, but his actions (or inactions) speak volumes. As long as he remains a member of Trinity he endorses the views of the establishment and its leaders.
